Namdhari sect claimant Dalip Singh declared PO; name entered in register

Mohali: A special CBI court in Mohali has ordered the inclusion of Namdhari sect claimant Thakur Dalip Singh in the register of proclaimed offenders after he failed to appear despite repeated summons.Special CBI judge Baljinder Singh Sra passed the order after the accused did not comply with the final deadline of April 16. The court noted that even after the stipulated 30-day period and repeated calls, Dalip Singh neither appeared nor disclosed his whereabouts.The court directed authorities to formally enter his name in the proclaimed offenders' register and initiate further action.The case, under investigation for nearly nine years, was handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation in 2017 after multiple FIRs were consolidated.Dalip Singh is accused in several cases, including the murder of Mata Chand Kaur, the killing of a Namdhari follower, and alleged conspiracies targeting sect leader Satguru Uday Singh and others.The case is linked to a long-running succession dispute within the Namdhari sect following the death of Satguru Jagjit Singh in 2012.With Singh declared a proclaimed offender, agencies are expected to intensify efforts to trace him, including possible attachment of properties and further legal action.Get real-time updates and result insights on the CBSE 12 Result 2026.
