According to police, Satyawan had a long-standing dispute with Dharmendra. The enmity escalated after Satyawan's wife filed a molestation case against Dharmendra, an allegation the latter termed false. The dispute eventually ended with Dharmendra's murder, for which Satyawan was convicted. As per the FIR registered in 2018, Dharmendra, who worked as a taxi driver, went out on the night of Dec 31, 2017, to celebrate New Year with friends. When he did not return late into the night, his brother Rohit went out looking for him. Rohit later joined Dharmendra and his friends — Dinesh of Humayunpur and Pradeep of Jhadoda Kalan (Delhi), presently residing in Khedi Sadh — who were sitting in a car at the bus stand.
The group then headed towards their homes. The FIR stated that around 3-4 am, when the group reached outside Satyawan's house, Satyawan was standing there. Dharmendra reportedly confronted him, alleging that a false case was registered against him. Following the argument, Satyawan went inside his house, returned with a pistol, and shot Dharmendra dead.Satyawan was later convicted in the case and was out on bail for the past two-and-a-half years. He has been missing since Feb 20. MSID:: 128714028 413 |
