JIND: A day after farmers unions and few khap panchayats extended their support to Neelam Verma (37) who was held in parliament security breach incident, other outfits of farmers and khaps of bangar area came forward to back her. Several organizations including Chahal khap, Kandel khap, sarva jatiya khap head, Bhartiya kisan union and social outfits took out a protest in Jind city on Saturday raising slogans against the government. After the protest they submitted a memorandum to Pankaj Kumar, sub divisional magistrate (SDM)an IAS officer seeking release of Neelam Verma. They raised slogans of , Neelam beti ko riha karo (release daughter Neelam) while taking out a foot march in town till DC office. They warned to gear up the movement if she is not released soon.

Jaideep Chahal, BKU state president, told the media persons that Neelam just raised the genuine issue of youths and did nothing wrong. They were not carrying any bomb but they are being projected as terrorists by imposing unlawful activities prevention act (UAPA). Youths are depressed and forced to take such steps. The centre and state has been ignoring youths since they came into power. Prime minister Narendra Modi had promised to provide 2 crore employment every year but failed and Haryana’s daughter tried to apprise him just his election promise. Haryana will support her and will continue such protests seeking removal of UAPA and her release, he added.

Protestors said that Jind district topped in unemployment in Haryana as there are over 50,000 youths who have registered themselves with district employment exchange. There are over 5 lakh unemployed youths in Haryana who are facing job crunch and being forced to take such steps. The Modi led NDA government should take action to deal with the real issue for jobless youths rather than proving them as terrorists.

Meanwhile, Neelam’s parents claimed that five persons visited their house on Friday night who posed themselves as officials of an investigation agency. “They searched our house and stayed for 15 minutes, subsequently leaving after taking contact numbers of family members and relatives, " said Sarawati Devi, mother of Neelam Verma.
