Mohali Police arrest main accused in Gurvinder Singh murder
Mohali: Police have arrested one of the main suspects in the murder of Gurvinder Singh, who was shot dead outside the District Administrative Complex in Mohali on Jan 28, 2026. The accused, identified as Gaurav alias Bawa, was apprehended during raids conducted in Moga district. Police also arrested his elder brother, Prince, who allegedly sheltered him and is a fugitive in a murder case registered at the Ferozepur City police station.Mohali SSP Harmandeep Singh Hans said two other suspects, Baltej Singh alias Bunty and Mangat Singh alias Max, had already been arrested earlier in the case. Search operations are underway to trace another key suspect who was involved in the killing.

Police teams supervised by officers including Saurav Jindal, Talwinder Singh, Sukhnaaz Singh and Rajan Parminder Singh had been working to track down the accused since the incident. The arrest of Gaurav was carried out by teams led by Inspector Harminder Singh, with support from other officers.According to the police, the case was registered on January 28 on the statement of the victim's wife, Amardeep Kaur. She told the police that while returning from a court appearance in Mohali, her husband was shot by two unidentified assailants and died on the spot.During interrogation, Gaurav, 21, revealed that he had been in contact with gangsters Goldy Brar, Vicky Sattaewal and Ravi Faridkotia for nearly three to four months. Police stated that the murder was carried out by Gaurav along with another main suspect sent by Goldy Brar and his associates. Gaurav is being presented in court to seek further police remand. The SSP said efforts are in progress to arrest the accomplice and recover the weapons used in the crime.Police also arrested Prince, who had been absconding since April 26, 2024, for providing shelter to Gaurav.
