Mohali: The finance and contract committee (F&CC) of the Mohali municipal corporation on Thursday approved several development works during its meeting held under the leadership of mayor Amarjeet Singh Jiti Sidhu. During the meeting, work orders worth around Rs 6.5 crore were issued, while development estimates worth Rs 5.5 crore were also finalised and approved.
The meeting was attended by senior deputy mayor Amrik Singh Somal, municipal commissioner Parminder Pal Singh Sandhu, councillor Jasbir Singh Manku and other officials. Sharing details, mayor Sidhu said several decisions related to the city's development were taken during the meeting.
He added that the committee discussed issues related to cleanliness in different parts of the city, particularly on B-roads, where sanitation arrangements faced difficulties.

The committee cleared works related to the repair and construction of footpaths, as well as development of sports and public facilities, including badminton and volleyball courts and open gym infrastructure. The mayor said works would be carried out in all wards according to the requirements of the residents, adding that any remaining gaps would also be addressed in the near future. tnn
