Mohali: Punjab minister Anmol Gagan Mann disbursed a sanction letter worth Rs 1.20 crore to 100 beneficiaries at Majri Block, while Derabassi MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa handed over the first installment of the grant sanctioned under the Prime Minister Awas Yojna (Gramin) to 69 beneficiaries at Pandwala village.
The minister and the MLA, speaking at their respective areas, said the beneficiaries found eligible are being given the amount in three installments. Today, they got the first installment of Rs 30,000 for starting construction work. The second installment of Rs 72,000 will be at lintel level and the third and last installment of Rs 18,000 will be given on completion of the construction.
They asked the beneficiaries to start work immediately so they get a pucca house soon, adding that they are there for the welfare of the public. They also listened to the problems of the people through ‘Sarkar Tuhade Dwar’ camps.
