PANCHKULA/YAMUNANAGAR: Yamunanagar police on Saturday claimed to have solved the case pertaining to Rs 2.1 crore loot of diamond and gold ornaments from PC jewellers in Sector-14 and Rs 9.70-lakh robbery from State Bank of Patiala in Sector-15. Police arrested the kingpin Amit Yadav and another member of the gang, Sameer Nain. According to police, Amit Yadav is an MBA passout from Swami Devi Dyal Institute in Barwala and had been residing as a tenant in Sector-12 of Panchkula while Sameer Nain was pursuing his course in hotel management from the same institute.
With arrest of the accused, Amit Yadav police claimed to have solved a number of cases of murder and dacoity including Jagadhri���s infamous businessman murder case and Rs 26.75 lakh loot case of Hisar.
Yamunanagar SP Vikas Arora told TOI that a team led by DSP Mukesh Malhotra was investigating the murder of businessman Charanjit Walia. During the investigation, the team caught one accused Sameer Nain from Narwana. Police got his remand till March 16. During the interrogation, accused revealed that he, along with Amit Yadav and another accused, had killed Charanjit Walia.
Yamunanagar police arrested Amit Yadav from Panchkula on March 14. During interrogation, Amit Yadav said he is resident of Rohtak. Amit, along with Sunil Malik, resident of Sonepat, Rajesh alias Badri, resident of Bahadurgarh, Pawan Saini and Sunder alias Kala, both residents of Rohtak, had looted PC jewellers on January 27. He told police that one of them was in police uniform and they had came in Verna car and fired one shot inside the showroom. While returning, they had taken away the gun of the security guard and from there, they went to Barwala, Yamunanagar police officers said. Amit Yadav also informed the police that he, along with Sameer Nain of Jind, had looted Rs 9.7 lakh from State bank of Patiala in Sector-15, Panchkula. He also admitted that he was involved in Rs 26.75 lakh loot and murder of cashier of Magnum Company in Hisar.
Sources revealed that Yadav was wearing a turban in PC jewellers loot case. Sunder impersonated as a prisoner and Sunil Malik as a policeman. Rajesh was sitting in a car which was parked outside the showroom.
Panchkula SP Amitabh Dhillon said Yamunanagar police was at present investigating the case and they will bring the accused to Panchkula.
