Law student alleges rape

MOHALI: A 27-year-old woman, student of a law institute in Himachal, was allegedly raped by a 29-year-old man on different occasions in and outside Mohali. In her police complaint, the girl mentioned the mobile number of the accused, ManishSaini, which was found to have been registered in the name of a Batala resident.
The complainant said she met the accused on a bus while she was on the way to her institute at Kala Amb, near Sirmaur on March 23.She said he managed to get physically intimate with her and raped her at his relatives' house in Phase 1.
The complainant was medically examined at civil hospital in Phase-VI. SHO of Phase 1 police station Gurdeep Singh said the result of the medical examination was awaited and an FIR registered. The complainant lives in Mohali.
