KURUKSHETRA: The district police have arrested a woman on Saturday, an accused in the sensational blind murder case involving the beheading of a specially-abled man, whose mutilated body was found in Keshav Park, Kurukshetra in the recent past.
The arrested woman has been identified as a resident of Khojkipur village in Panipat district. Earlier, two male accused were arrested in this case identified as Mohit of Khojkipur and Manjeet Singh alias Kaku of Hadtadi village, both from Panipat district. With the latest arrest, all three accused in the gruesome crime have now been taken into custody and sent to judicial custody.

According to the police, the shocking incident came to light on December 30, 2025, when information was received about a headless body lying in Keshav Park. Acting swiftly on the tip-off, senior police officers and teams rushed to the spot. The crime scene was thoroughly examined with the assistance of the Scene of Crime Team and the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL).
Considering the gravity and sensitivity of the case, multiple teams were constituted to carry out the investigation from different angles. These included teams from Crime Investigation Agency (CIA)-I, CIA-II, CIA-Ladwa, and Krishna Gate Police Station.
The body was sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain further details.
During the course of investigation, the severed head of the deceased was recovered on January 13, 2026, from Sannihit Sarovar, marking a significant breakthrough in the case. Police officials stated that continuous analysis of technical evidence, CCTV footage, and confidential inputs helped investigators gather crucial leads and steer the probe in a decisive direction.
The deceased was later identified as Sunil Kumar, a resident of Khojkipur village in Panipat district. Following an in-depth investigation, a team led by inspector Mohan Lal, in-charge of CIA-II, first arrested Mohit and Manjeet Singh. Further investigation led to the arrest of a woman on Saturday.
Kurukshetra Police stated that the case has now been fully solved, underscoring their commitment to cracking complex and blind cases through meticulous investigation and coordinated teamwork.
