Panchkula: A meeting was held to review works of the Kalka municipal council on Thursday. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of
Panchkula MC commissioner and district municipal commissioner Sachin Gupta on Thursday.
The issue of public toilets came up in the meeting on which officials told the commissioner that there are 14 blocks in Kalka municipal council with about 73 public toilets.
However, they said that maintenance was difficult because of staff shortage. Gupta asked officers to float tenders to clean and maintain the toilets. He also asked officials to conduct awareness activities in schools regarding segregation of wet and dry waste. On maintenance of C&D waste, officials told the commissioner that a place has been identified for disposal of C&D waste. The commissioner asked EO Ravinder Kuhar to visit the site for vending zones. tnn
