In 1st meet after poll rout, JJP dissolves all its units
JIND: Jannayak janta party (JJP) held its first meeting in Jind district after assembly elections’ debacle in which party’s top brass dissolved all units during the party's seventh foundation day celebrations. Notably, JJP which won 10 seats in 2019 assembly elections and formed a coalition government with BJP, now failed to secure even a single seat out of 90 seats in the previously held elections. In the meeting former deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala, who faced a defeat this time from Uchana Kalan, national president Ajay Singh Chautala, Digvijay Chautala and other party leaders were present. In the meeting they decided to launch a reach out program in the state to connect new members with the party.
Ajay Chautala stated that this was the first meeting after the assembly elections, where party officials provided key suggestions to enhance and fortify the organization. He also mentioned that JJP will review the reasons behind its electoral defeat and has formed a five-member committee under the leadership of the state president Brij Sharma to take action against party members and officials involved in internal sabotage during the elections. The committee will submit its report within 15 days. Ajay Chautala criticized the BJP government for its poor policies that have caused distress to the poor, farmers, and the working class. He also remarked that the Congress has failed to fulfill its role as an effective opposition. Under these circumstances, JJP will amplify the voices of the common people, and the future of the party will be shaped by the hard work of its members.
Former deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala affirmed that JJP workers have not lost their morale and will continue to work tirelessly. He urged party members to step into the field with determination and contribute to strengthening the organization. He announced plans to visit villages during the February membership drive, focusing on engaging youth and women with the party. Dushyant Chautala stated that those who left JJP under the influence of the opposition during the elections now wish to return, and the party will welcome them back to move forward stronger. He emphasized that the same enthusiasm and energy with which JJP was established six years ago will now be directed towards its revival.
Principal General Secretary Digvijay Chautala accused former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda of betraying public sentiments by aligning with the BJP and stated that the people of Haryana would never forgive him.
