In-laws booked after woman ends life

PATIALA: Police have booked 5 people for abetment to suicide following a suicide committed by a woman.
The victim, Poonam Sharma, committed suicide by jumping into Bhakhra canal on October 21. However, her body was recovered on October 25 by the police following which a case against all the accused was registered. The case has been registered at Tripuri police station under section 306 (abetment to suicide) and 34 of IPC on the complaint of victim’s brother Rohit Kumar.
The complainant had alleged that her sister Poonam Sharma was being tortured mentally and physical both by her in-laws.Police have booked the husband, Harjinder Kumar, his brother Jatin Kumar, sisters Sonia and Goldi beside Harjinder’s mother Preeti Devi for abetment to suicide. The accused are yet to be arrested.
