Chandigarh: Can a smattering of stardust help bridge the constantly widening chasm between Jats and non-Jats in Haryana? Organizers of a special event in Rohtak - the epicenter of the recent Jat reservation violence - are hoping it will as they have got together a pantheon of Haryanvi actors and sporting personalities for a 'Sadhbhawna Sammelan' on April 3.
The event is being held under the banner of Samajik Samrasta Manch, Haryana. The violence during the Jat agitation for reservation had left 30 people dead and more than 300 injured. Wrestler and Olympian Yogeshwar Dutt, actor Randeep Hooda, singer Himani Kapoor and film director Satish Kaushik among others have already given their consent to attend the event.
Haryana governor Kaptan Singh Solanki and his Himachal Pradesh counterpart Acharya Devvrat, who is originally from Haryana, will be there.
