TARN TARAN: In an outrageous act of domestic violence, a man starved his wife by keeping her locked in a room for two days and chopped off her hair. Luckily, Paramjit Kaur managed to escape from her inlaws' captivity and reach her parents house to narrate the horrors inflicted on her.
A resident of Cheema Kalan, Kaur was married to Partap Singh of Jodh Singh Wala village six years ago and since then, she was reportedly harassed by her in-laws for dowry.

Kaur alleged, "My husband's latest demand was a motorcycle which my father could not fulfil."
In a complaint to Valtoha police station, Kaur said that when she conveyed her parents' inability to buy Singh a motorcycle, he, his father Dayal Singh, mother Pritam Kaur and brother Major Singh thrashed her and cut her hair, besides locking her in a room without any food.
While the police registered a case under sections 295, 498 A, 342, 354 and 323 of IPC and began investigations, no arrest was made till the filing of this report.
