HP releases reservation roster for zila parishad chairperson posts

Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh panchayati raj department on Friday issued the reservation roster for the posts of zila parishad chairperson for the upcoming panchayati raj institution (PRI) elections.According to the roster, Solan and Sirmaur are reserved for Scheduled Caste (women) candidates, Mandi for Scheduled Caste, Kinnaur for Scheduled Tribe, and Lahaul and Spiti for Scheduled Tribe (women) candidates.Kangra is reserved for Other Backward Classes (women), while the Hamirpur and Chamba seats are reserved for women candidates. The seats in Shimla, Kullu, Una and Bilaspur have been left unreserved.The reservations for panchayat pradhans, ward members, block development council members and zila parishad wards were finalised earlier.The PRI elections are likely to be held in May.
