Bathinda: Half a dozen schools in Barnala received bomb threat emails on Thursday morning, triggering evacuations.
Three prominent private schools received the threatening emails at 7:45 am, while the remaining schools got them at 8:03 am.
Barnala deputy commissioner Harpreet Singh and senior superintendent of police (SSP) Sarfaraz Alam arrived at the sites to supervise anti-sabotage operations. SSP Alam told TOI that no incriminating or suspicious material was found during the searches. He said police are currently verifying the source and IP addresses of the emails, and an FIR is being registered against the unidentified senders.
