Haryana: Man attacks lover's friends, brother in Panipat

CHANDIGARH: Two months after eloping with a girl, a man attacked three of his friedns and girl's brother in Panipat district.
Identified as Rocky, a resident of Rajiv Colony, the accused had eloped with a girl two months ago. Rocky and his girlfriend’s brother used to go in the same gym owned by one Mahender Kumar. They had two more friends identified as Rajan Taneja and Gopal.
30-year-old Rocky is married and has a son.

He allegedly had an extramarital affair with the girl with whom he had eloped on May 15.
According to information, on July 4, Rocky allegedly set Mahender’s gym on fire. He resorted to this as Mahender, Rajan and Vikas had helped his girlfriend’s brother in pursuing the police case against him.
Soon after setting Mahender’s gym on fire, Rocky changed the status of his mobile phone. On Wednesday evening he targeted Rajan when he was returning to Mahender’s gym with some material. As he reached near Saibaba Chowk, Rocky appeared with two persons and opened fire on him,
Rajan fell unconscious as the bullet hit below his neck. He was rushed to the hospital where he is undergoing the treatment.
Soon after attacking Rajan, Rocky put his status on Whtsapp that now the remaining two , who include his girlfriend’s brother and third friend Gopal, are on his radar.

Gopal told police that soon after attacking Rajan, Rocky changed his status and issued warning for him and girl’s brother. Gopal said that the accused gave him a call as well.
SP Panipat Manbir Singh said that Rocky has been booked in cases registered against him at Quilla police station and Chandni Bagh police station.
Cases related to kidnapping of the girl has been registered at Quilla police station while cases of setting gym on fire and attack on Rajan Taneja have been registered at Chandni Bagh police station.
"Our teams are on the job and we are hopeful of arresting him at the earliest," said SP Panipat.
