Earlier, Kumar's wife had demanded that senior officers Kapur and Bijarniya be named in the FIR for allegedly abetting her husband’s suicide.
The family had refused to allow the postmortem and cremation until these demands were addressed.
In a late-night development, the committee formed to seek justice for Kumar’s family expressed satisfaction over the Haryana government’s action, particularly the transfer of the DGP and SP Rohtak.
The committee is now set to meet the Chandigarh Administration today, demanding a fair and transparent probe by the UT police.
