Haryana CM asks departments to set year-wise targets till 2030

Chandigarh: Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday directed all departments to prepare year-wise timelines for targets up to 2030, stressing that goals must be achieved on schedule and reviewed regularly to ensure benefits reach people.Saini was chairing a meeting at the Civil Secretariat to review five-year implementation roadmaps of various departments in connection with the Swarna Jayanti Haryana Institute for Fiscal Management.During the meeting, he also launched the "Vision to Action Artificial Intelligence" planning tool. Director general of the institute, Dr Raj Nehru, said the tool is designed to bring clarity to five-year targets, generate uniform departmental reports and enable tracking of year-wise progress.Officials from departments, including industries and commerce and school education, presented their plans for 2026–2030, outlining key schemes and initiatives.The chief minister said the next five years are crucial and that effective implementation of schemes would help Haryana contribute significantly to the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047. He asked departments to work in coordination with NITI Aayog and focus on reforms for better delivery.Saini emphasised that priorities should be clearly defined and measurable on a yearly basis, with timelines that are realistic yet ambitious.Reviewing the education sector, he said the department should align its plans with the New Education Policy and Haryana Vision 2047. He stressed improving quality and making higher education more employment-oriented.He said the Gross Enrollment Ratio in universities should be raised from the current 31% to 50% by 2047. Modern culture colleges will be set up in every district, with campuses to be developed by 2028. The state also plans to introduce 50% skill-based courses and provide all education-related services through a single portal to improve access and institutional grading.
