Chandigarh: A key meeting of the Haryana BJP election committee was held in Delhi on Sunday to deliberate on the party nominees for the polls to seven civic bodies in six districts of the state.
Various aspects of the election were discussed during the meeting. Observers from various civic bodies submitted their reports to the committee, headed by CM Nayab Singh Saini and Haryana BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli.
Union minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Rao Inderjit Singh, Krishan Pal Gujjar and other senior central and state leaders were also present.
At the time of filing this report, deliberations were going on with the district in-charges, and the list of candidates was expected to be released by late Sunday night or Monday morning.
Several important decisions were taken in the meeting held at Haryana Bhawan in Delhi.
In-depth deliberations were held on various aspects to ensure the party's victory in the municipal body elections. The leaders provided necessary inputs to make the electoral strategy, booth management and public outreach campaign more effective.
The election in-charges for Rewari municipal council; Dharuhera, Uklana, and Nagar Sampla municipal committees; and municipal corporations of Sonipat, Ambala and Panchkula presented their reports.
After extensive deliberations, the leaders made it clear that the party would enter the electoral field, highlighting the public welfare schemes of the Narendra Modi and Nayab Singh Saini govts.
The BJP state president informed the meeting about the scheduled programmes related to the municipal body elections. He also placed before everyone the points discussed and decided at Saturday's meeting regarding the manifesto.
