Haryana: Bodies of three of five youths recovered from Western Jamuna Canal in Yamunanagar, over 13 booked for murder

Yamunanagar deputy commissioner Parth Gupta also visited the WJC to ascertain the details of the search operation. The police said one dead body has been recovered from near the spot where the youths drowned, the second at a distance of 2 km and the third at 5 km.
A group of 10 youths had jumped into the WJC on Sunday afternoon to escape an armed attack with stones and sharp-edged weapons from their rivals, five of which had gone missing, while the rest came out safely.
Meanwhile, the police have registered a case of murder and attempt to murder against 13 identified accused people and unknown others.
On the complaint of Deepak of Jagadhri, a case has been registered against 13 accused people identified as Bhartu, Gaurav alias Gauru, Mani Rana alias Dhanna, Gaurav alias Mahadev, Pauwa, Ajru, Lucca Valmiki, Gaurav Bakre Wala, Sammi alias Harbhajan, Aman Rana, Aftab Alam, Laddu, Sandeep Pandit and unknown others.
The accused have been booked under Section 148 (rioting), 149 (unlawful assembly), 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code at Buria police station on Sunday.
In his complaint, Deepak said, he along with his friends Aman, Ala-Ud-Din, Suleman, Sahil Verma, Ravi Saini, Ishu Arora, Nikhil Gupta, Sunny Saini, Shaukeen, Sahil alias Dedh had gone to BJP's rally at grain market, Jagadhri in Aman's SUV.
"At about, 12.30 pm, all of us went to take bath in canal (WJC) near Dekriwala village in Buria area. We parked the SUV on the bank of canal and some of us started bathing, while others stayed on the bank. I am Ishu started drinking beer while Ala-Ud-Din, Sahil Dedh, Nikhil, Sunny, Suleman, Sahil Verma and Shaukeen went into the WJC canal for bathing and the rest were standing on the bank", said Deepak.
"At about 1.30 pm, Bhartu, Gaurav, Mani Rana and others named above armed with rods came there on several motorcycles. They started beating us and to escape the attack, we jumped into the canal where the water was shallow and the accused people started attacking us with stones and bricks. They said either we should come out of the canal or they would kill us by drowning. I came out of the canal and ran towards the fields", said Deepak.
Deepak said his other friends were in the canal and Ala-Ud-Din, Suleman, Nikhil, Sunny, and Sahil could not come out of the water and drowned. He said the rest of them escaped from there and Ishu called on 112 helpline number.
The accused also smashed our SUV and fled the spot toward Amadalpur.
"Mani Rana and Lucca had murdered Ala-Ud-Din's father nearly two years ago and assaulted Suleman's brother. Some days ago Bhartu and Sandeep Pandit had also assaulted Ala-Ud-Din's uncle Mehboob. These people kept a rivalry with us and Aman Rana was staring at us during the BJP rally and they came pre-planned to attack us", said Deepak.
The cops are yet to make any arrests in this case.
