Harassed for dowry, woman ends life
Dowry harassment reportedly claimed the life of a resident of Madanpura village of Mohali on Tuesday night.Manpreet Kaur, 24, ended her life by consuming a poisonous substance at her house.
Manpreet had tied the knot with Maninder Singh in 2012. The police have registered a case under sections 304B and 498A of the IPC against her husband, mother-in-law and five sisters-in-law on the complaint of her father, Jasvir Singh, a resident of Morinda, who said they used to harass her for dowry.
