Ambala: Haryana energy, transport, and labour minister Anil Vij on Friday said the speed of governance depends on how swiftly files are processed, warning that stalled reports bring govt work to a halt. Reiterating his zero-tolerance stance on delays, he directed that no file in his department be kept pending without a valid reason.
Demonstrating this work culture, senior officers, including his office's senior secretary, visited the minister's residence in Ambala Cantonment, where Vij personally disposed of official files. He instructed officials that no work or file from his office should remain pending under any circumstances, emphasising that delays in public-related matters are unacceptable and that time-bound disposal is a priority of his functioning.

The minister said transparency and accountability in administration are ensured only when decision-making is swift, clear, and outcome-oriented. He directed officials to process proposals, schemes, and financial approvals promptly and strictly as per rules to avoid any disruption to development works.
Vij underlined that govt offices exist to serve citizens, not to delay work by getting entangled in procedures.
He noted that the energy, transport, and labour departments are directly linked to the public, and any delay in their files has an immediate impact on citizens' facilities, services, and welfare schemes.
Highlighting the role of technology, the minister said file disposal is being made more transparent and effective through the e-Office system and digital tracking, enabling continuous monitoring and eliminating unnecessary delays. He cautioned officers to meet public expectations, reiterating that timely decisions, clear instructions, and a focus on results remain central to his work ethos.
Officials said Vij's approach reflects the govt's commitment to efficiency and good governance by ensuring quick implementation of schemes and timely decision-making across the departments.
