Mohali: Allottees of Purab Premium Apartments in Sector 88 have accused the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (Gmada) of not handing a single flat despite making the promise of doing so in May 2015.
They changed the date from May to December 31, 2015, then announced that possession for one and two-bedroom flats would be handed over on February 28, 2016 and three-bedroom flats by March 31, but to no avail, said Allottees.

Manpreet Singh one of the Allottees, said the construction work of the flats was still under way and the connection of the electricity was also pending.
The Allottees were staying in rented houses and have been paying bank loans also.
Sources said a numbers of Allottees were planning to approach the consumer court over the delay.
Gmada estate officer Mahesh Bansal said the possession would be finally handed over on June 30. "We will start the process on June 20. Security reasons were the one of the major causes of the delay. Construction of flats not allotted were another reason as we had to do partition of the flats."
The scheme for 4,000 flats was floated in 2011. The Gmada decided to construct only 1,600 flats owing to poor response. Out of these, 1,200 were still under construction.
