MOHALI: Police on Sunday arrested four persons with
heroin in two different cases.
In the first incident, the Mohali police have arrested a resident of Hallomajra for possessing drugs. A police party has set up a a checkpoint near a private college in Sector 67 when the accused Arshad Iqbal coming in a Swift Dzire car was frisked by the cops. On searching, the police recovered 20g heroin from his vehicle.
A case under Section 21-61-85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was registered at the Phase 11 police station. Accused Arshad was produced in a local court on Sunday.
In the second incident, police arrested three persons identified as Karan alias Kaku and Shiva Kumar, both residents of Bhaskar Colony, Chandigarh and Sandeep Sharma, a resident of Sector 23, Chandigarh. The police had set up a checkpoint near Lehli Rotary in Lalru on Sunday afternoon when the trio were coming in an Alto car from Ambala side.
The police signalled them to stop and on checking recovered 100g heroin from their possession.
A case under Section 21-61-85 of the NDPS Act was registered at the Lalru police station. The accused will be produced in court on Monday, the police said.
