The delegation handed over a written complaint at the office of the Akal Takht wherein they strongly objected to Sarna's remarks. Later, while talking to the mediapersons, Lubana said the statements made by Harvinder Singh Sarna after his meeting with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi deeply hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community. He further alleged that Sarna referred to the Akal Takht merely as a building, which amounted to an insult to the highest religious institution of the Sikh panth.Apart from Lubana, the delegation included Sukhbir Singh Khalsa, Sukhwinder Singh Babbar, Harminder Singh Sweeta, Baljinder Singh, Manjeet Singh Komal, and other leaders. They emphasised that the Akal Takht was established by Guru Hargobind Sahib and held the status of the supreme temporal authority of the Sikh community. Calling it merely a building, they said, was an affront to Sikh history, maryada (Sikh code of religious code), and faith.MSID:: 128259447 413 |
