Decomposed body found, cops suspect murder

Ludhiana: Panic gripped Tajpur road when a decomposed body was found near Buddha nullah on Saturday afternoon. The cops said that the body could not be recognised as its face and a hand had been eaten by worms.

“A passerby noticed the body and called us. The body was wrapped in a bedding and thrown here after murder. The body appears to be of a well-built man, who was in his mid-30s. The body was wrapped in a sheet and mattress. The head and a hand of the deceased was out of the bedding,” said additional deputy commissioner of police Rajbeer Singh Boparai.

“We suspect that the man was killed inside a house by someone known to him. The cause of death could only be ascertained after postmortem. We have made the announcement in surrounding areas for the identification of the body,” the cop said.

The body has been sent for post-mortem and a case of murder has been registered against an unidentified accused.
