Crime rising in Hry, but CM busy touring Punjab: AAP’s Dhanda

Chandigarh: The Aam Aadmi Party's national media in-charge Anurag Dhanda on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh over rising criminal incidents in the state. "The chief minister is on a holiday, while gangsters, drug smugglers and criminals are effectively ruling Haryana. People of the state are forced to live in fear," he claimed. Dhanda also strongly criticised the recent Rohtak incident, in which 25 rounds were fired in a busy market. He said the safety of common citizens can be judged from the fact that the killers openly confessed to the crime on social media, showing that criminals have no fear of the govt.Commenting on the chief minister's claim of giving a "free hand" to the police, Dhanda sarcastically said it is unclear whether this freedom was given to control crime or to allow it to grow. He questioned how such incidents continue to happen, when the govt claims it will bring gangsters back from abroad. Dhanda claimed that organised crime is expanding across the state and drug trafficking is increasing, with narcotics being sold in every street. He also criticised the chief minister's visits to Punjab, saying when a ruler leaves his throne, criminals take over.
Dhanda demanded the resignation of chief minister Nayab Singh, stating that if he cannot reduce crime in the state, he should step down. MSID:: 128467035 413 |
