CHANDIGARH: The rising temperature could not keep cricket fans away as they tried their best to catch a glimpse of their favourite cricket players. They sat outside the teams' hotel and many were seen outside PCA stadium where Indo-Pak teams practised on Sunday. Many from far-off areas such as Himachal and J&K reached the city for tickets. The day was happening as cricket enthusiasts cheered for team India.
People from all age groups gathered outside the stadium and Hotel Taj but were forced to to a distance by the security. ''I have come here to see my favourite player, Sachin Tendulkar. We are standing outside the stadium since morning. I did not get the match ticket but I do not want to miss a chance of seeing him, said Vikas from Kasauli.
Also influenced by this widespread were the priests as one was seen outside the stadium trying to avail the ticket.
Cops too had a tough time in managing the excited crowd. There were some who seemed to be determined to get the tickets. They stood, watched and waited for an opportunity.
''We are trying to get the tickets for the last five days but we were unable to do so as PCA is not opening the ticket counter. Such a match is rare and nobody would want to miss the game,'' said a cricket-lover from Kashmir.
