MOHALI: Officials at the outpatient opioid assisted treatment (OOAT) clinic situated in Sector 66, Mohali, have claimed that if the visitors show symptoms of cough or cold, they would not be allowed to meet the patient.

Pooja, a doctor posted at the OOAT, said, “Due to the coronavirus outbreak, we are taking every preventive step possible on our part. Whenever a visitor arrives to meet a patient, we always check them for any symptoms. If there are any symptoms of cough or cold, he/ she will not be allowed to enter.”

She added that despite checking for the symptoms, they are also asking the visitors about their travel history if they had travelled abroad. “No such visitor has arrived till yet,” she said.

“When several patients visit the OPD, we make them sit together and guide them about coronavirus. Further, if anybody now requires medicines from the OOAT clinic, it will be available through a single window system,” said an official.
