Lal said Randhir Singh was apparently drunk and started abusing him. When he objected, he allegedly bit his hand. Residents of the area alleged the cop threatened to kill them with his service pistol and went inside his house to bring the weapon.
As
Rajeev Kumar, SHO, Sector 17 police station, and other cops reached the spot, Randhir Singh along with his wife locked himself in the house. Police did not use force to bring him out, fearing he might harm himself and others.
