AMRITSAR: Congress party has sought intervention of National Commission for Women and National Human Rights Commission in tearing of clothes of Kuljit Kaur case, resident of Nandwala Nawan village near Amritsar by police.
Vice-president of Punjab Pardesh Mahila Congress Nimisha Mehta who produced Kuljit Kaur before media on Thursday said that she had already informed both the commissions about the treatment meted out to Kuljit Kaur on hands of police.
Kaur said she wondered why the police had not filed FIR in the case. "I will not let any policemen responsible for my plights go scot free and will fight till justice is delivered" said Kaur.
On April 18th, Kaur had alleged that ASI Gurnam Singh, in charge Bandala police station had misbehaved with her and torn her clothes.
