Addressing a press conference, Rajendra Gautam, chairman of the SC wing of the AICC, along with Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring and former chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi, said all the great things the Congress did for the country were being undone by the BJP.Gautam said the BJP neither had any role in the freedom struggle of the country nor any role in building modern India, which emerged as a strong and powerful nation. He said while the BJP snatched away MGNREGA from the poor and the Dalits, the AAP cheated the people of Punjab of the scholarships and other welfare schemes, which the Congress had launched earlier.Suggesting a secret understanding between the RSS-BJP and Anna Hazare and Arvind Kejriwal, Gautam said the two played into the hands of these organisations to defame and malign the Congress-led UPA govt by levelling false accusations of corruption.
He pointed out that all these allegations were found to be false by the investigating agencies under the Modi govt.Accusing the AAP leadership, including Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain, of misusing power, he said these leaders were so addicted to power that they could not survive without it, and that was the reason they shifted to Punjab. He said, like the AAP built a "Sheesh Mahal" in Delhi, they built a similar house in Chandigarh to enjoy the luxuries of power. The Congress leader said the Dalits, with about 38-40% population in Punjab, made an immense contribution in getting the AAP govt elected in the state. But when the AAP came to nominating people to Rajya Sabha, not a single Dalit was given representation, neither in Delhi nor in Punjab.Similarly, he said, the AAP govt denied scholarships to the Dalit students and also delayed the ‘Shagun' scheme money to the Dalit families.MSID:: 126615538 413 |
