PANCHKULA: While the Congress is yet to announce names of candidates for
Haryana assembly elections
, ticket aspirants from
Panchkula and Kalka assembly seats have already declared themselves as ‘candidates’ and even started campaigning on social media.
These ticket aspirants are also making promises if voted to power.
Senior Congress leader and advocate Vijay Bansal, who is eyeing Congress ticket from Kalka assembly seat, has already uploaded posters on his social networking sites with pictures with Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala. One of the posters reads, “If voted to power, will upgrade the Gandhi memorial library, Kalka, on priority basis”.
Another Congress ticket aspirant, former MLA Pardeep Chaudhary, who recently left INLD and joined Congress, is also circulating messages on different WhatsApp groups and Facebook.
His poster reads, “Chalenge Sath, Badenge Sath, Milegi Taraki, Hoga Vikas”. He even circulated his mobile number and appealed to assembly voters to give a missed call and he will contact them.
In 2009 assembly elections, Pardeep Chaudhary, who had contested on an INLD ticket, had defeated Congress candidate Satvinder Singh Rana with a margin of 21,187 votes.
In Panchkula constituency, Congress ticket contender and senior leader Ranjeeta Mehta and her team also started posting pictures and posters of her meeting with residents. In one of the posters, Ranjeeta talks about care for senior citizens.
Another Congress ticket contender Anjali Bansal, the wife of former Panchkula MLA DK Bansal, is also sharing pictures and photos of meeting with Panchkula residents. Her daughter advocate Pooja Bansal, who is handling her social media, also sharing messages like congratulating
Haryana Congress president Kumari Selja on becoming state party president, on Twitter as well.
In the raceIn Kalka, Congress leaders like former MLA Pardeep Chaudhary, former deputy chief minister Chander Mohan, senior Congress leaders Vijay Bansal, Dhanender Ahluwalia and Manvir Kaur Gill are strong contenders for the party ticket.
In Panchkula, former mayor Upinder Kaur Ahluwalia, senior Congress leaders Ranjeeta Mehta, Anjali Bansal and Lily Bawa are eying the party ticket. Former deputy chief minister Chander Mohan’s name is also doing the rounds for Panchkula seat.
