Chandigarh: Punjab chief minister
Bhagwant Mann on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the seven Rajya Sabha MPs who quit the
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), using a cryptic culinary analogy to downplay their political importance.
Mann posted on X, "Ginger, garlic, cumin, fenugreek powder, red chilli, black pepper and coriander — these seven things together make the vegetable taste great, but on their own, they can't become a vegetable."
He suggested that while these might may add flavour to a dish, they lack the substance to be the main course. He asserted that these leaders possess no individual vote bank, claiming that even a village sarpanch enjoyed more grassroots legitimacy than these parliamentarians.
On Friday, Mann linked the timing of the MPs' exit to his AAP govt's performance, claiming the BJP's unease peaked following the enactment of strict laws against sacrilege. He accused the Centre of using agencies like the ED and CBI to destabilise his govt.
