Shimla: Himachal Pradesh chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday announced Rs 10 crore for the construction of the Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding School at Kalpa in Kinnaur district.
The CM also directed the officials to expedite the ongoing works to ensure timely completion.
During his visit to Kalpa, Sukhu inspected the under-construction school building and a sports hostel. Emphasising quality and speed, he instructed the public works department to accelerate construction and maintain high standards.
He also announced Rs 2 crore for the construction of a Balika Ashram within the school premises. Sukhu asked revenue minister Jagat Singh Negi to closely monitor the progress of both projects to avoid delays.
Earlier, at Reckong Peo, a delegation of the District Ex-Servicemen Association sought financial assistance for a Sainik Rest House. Sukhu responded positively by announcing Rs 2 crore for the facility.
He also interacted with residents at Reckong Peo and Kalpa and listened to their grievances.
