Chandigarh: Two cellphone snatchings in two hours

CHANDIGARH: Bike-borne miscreants targeted two persons in different parts of the city on Wednesday night and fled with their mobile phones.
Police have registered two separate cases against the unidentified suspects and started investigation. No arrests have been made in the cases so far.
Sarita Rani of Sector 39 told police that she had gone to a park with her six-year-old grandson in Sector 39-C around 8.30pm.Her grandson was playing with her mobile phone. While they were retuning home from the park, two masked men on a motorcycle stopped near them while the pillion rider snatched her phone from the grandson's hands. The duo then fled the spot.
She then raised an alarm and passersby gathered at the spot. They informed the police and on the woman's statement, a case was registered.
Rahul Rawat of Ram Darbar stated in his police complaint that he was walking home from Hallomajra around 11.30pm on Wednesday. As he reached near Saini Motors, two bike-borne men came from behind and snatched his phone. Sector 31 police have registered a case.
