Chandigarh MC observes World Water Day

Chandigarh: The Chandigarh civic body on Wednesday observed ‘Vishav Jal Divas’ (World Water Day) in order to highlight the importance of water and raise awareness of the world’s water issues.Mayor Anup Gupta administered a pledge to the officers and employees of the MC regarding the importance of water. They pledged to save water and use it judiciously. The issues of water scarcity, water pollution, inadequate water supply, and poor sanitation facilities are highlighted on World Water Day. The day encourages people, communities, organizations, and governments to take the required steps to manage freshwater resources sustainably and address water-related difficulties by raising awareness of these issues.
