Chandigarh: The trade body Assocham’s Haryana State Development Council has submitted a memorandum to Haryana government, suggesting enhancement of competitiveness and sustainable industrial growth. These suggestions were made by

Assocham

during the pre-budget meeting preceding the state budget with the chief minister of Haryana.
The memorandum was submitted by Assocham to bolster the industrial competitiveness in areas like skill development,

MSME

, infrastructure and tourism.

Vijay Sharma

, chairman, Assocham Haryana State Development Council, who was representing industry of Haryana on behalf of Assocham, said, “Last skill gap analysis was done in 2012. It needs to be updated to identify current demand and supply gaps. Assocham has submitted a ‘skill gurukul concept’ wherein district and cluster wise demand-based skill trainings can be imparted along with the industry. We have requested suitable allocation to upgrade and create the skill development infrastructure.”
Shedding light on MSMEs, he said, “Lot of efforts, allocations & schemes have been made by the Centre and state for MSME upliftment. But

Udyam

registration of just 11% at India level and 23% at state level is an indicator of MSME indifference & reluctance towards availment. Simplistic digital mobile-based ecosystem is the need of the hour.”
He further highlighted that Assocham has recommended a dedicated ‘entrepreneur development centre’ & online ‘MSME finance facilitation centre’ concepts. “We also welcome a block based ‘Padma Scheme’ vision. Industry in A & B categories requests for allocation towards basic hygiene related infrastructure areas of water, electricity, drainage, sewage, internal roads,” Sharma said.
