Bike rally held to mark Patiala military lit fest
Patiala: During the third Patiala Military Literature Festival, tributes were paid at the Cenotaph (Raj Bal and Black Elephant War Memorial) at YPS Chowk. Deputy GOC and Commander of One Arm Division Patiala, Brigadier Vikram Guleria (SM), Chairman of Military Literature Festival Association Lt Gen TS Shergill (retd), Lt Gen Chetinder Singh (retd), deputy commissioner Preeti Yadav, Patiala SSP Nanak Singh and others laid floral wreaths in honour of the martyrs. Following this, the Braveheart Motorcycle Rally, comprising around 70 motorcyclists, was flagged off by Brigadier Vikram Guleria. The rally covered approximately 30 kilometres through Patiala city before concluding at Khalsa College, the venue of the Military Literature Festival. Cabinet minister Dr Balbir Singh received the bike rally at the festival venue. During the event, Brigadier Guleria praised the initiative of the Punjab govt and District Administration, stating that such events inspire the youth to join the armed forces.Chairman of the Military Literature Festival Association, Lt Gen TS Shergill (retd) , commended chief minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for organising the festival at the district level. He emphasised that it encourages youth to pursue a military career while also allowing the general public to connect more closely with the armed forces. Deputy commissioner Preeti Yadav highlighted that the Braveheart Motorcycle Ride Rally was organised by the Military Literature Festival Association, Indian Army, and District Administration to pay tribute to fallen soldiers.On the occasion, YPS headmaster Naveen Kumar Dikshit, deputy headmaster Anil Bajaj and several senior officials were present.
