Vikas had been missing since Saturday morning after he left home in his car following a call from his friend.
According to Vikas's father, Suresh Singh, his son had left for Madina village and met his maternal uncle on the way.
Concerns grew when Vikas failed to return home. Family members said his phone was switched off. A few hours later, his car was found abandoned in Bharan village around 11 pm.
After an unsuccessful search, his family filed a missing person's complaint at Bahu Akbarpur police station on Sunday.
Farmers spotted the body on Monday morning, and documents found in the victim's pockets helped establish his identity.
Bahu Akbarpur SHO Mahesh Kumar said a detailed investigation is underway.
