Chandigarh: Leaders who were earlier part of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), including Bibi Jagir Kaur and Jagmeet Singh Brar, held a meeting at the residence of Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) president and former Union minister Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa to discuss the revival of SAD.
Others who attended the meeting included former MP Ratan Singh Ajnala, former Punjab ministers Sarwan Singh Phillaur and Jagdish Singh Garcha, former MLAs Justice Nirmal Singh (retired) and Sukhwinder Singh Aulakh, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) former general secretary Sukhdev Singh Bhore, Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) former member Sukhwant Singh Sarao, and SAD (Sanyukt) general secretary Manjit Singh Dasuha.
These leaders raised questions on the leadership of SAD and president Sukhbir Singh Badal’s competence to lead the party. They were of the view that it was high time to make collective efforts and draw up a concrete plan to revive SAD in its old panthic form.
