Given the seriousness of the case, the STF's Rohtak unit initiated an intensive investigation under the supervision of inspector Narendra Pal.
Acting on technical inputs and intelligence leads, the team swiftly unravelled the conspiracy and apprehended the two prime accused, said the police.
The main accused has been identified as Monu, son of Rajbir, a resident of Kansala village in Rohtak district. Monu allegedly conspired with his brother-in-law Manish alias Seentu, son of Naresh, a resident of Barani, to carry out the kidnapping.
Investigators revealed that the duo allegedly hatched the kidnapping plot nearly 20 days prior to the incident.
Manish, who worked at a cowshed owned by the victim's family, was familiar with the household's routine and movements.
On the day of Dhulandi, Manish allegedly sent the child to a nearby village shop, where the kidnappers were already waiting. The boy was then abducted and taken away by the accused.
According to police sources, the kidnappers later demanded a ransom of Rs 5 crore from the victim's family and subsequently abandoned the child at a secluded location near Rohtak after collecting the amount.
Acting swiftly on multiple leads, the STF team tracked down and arrested the main conspirators, Monu and Manish.
STF SP Vikrant Bhushan confirmed the development, stating that the remaining persons involved in the case had been identified and raids were underway to apprehend them. Efforts were also being made to recover the ransom amount, he added.
The arrested accused were handed over to the district police for further legal proceedings. Investigations were continuing to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy, the police added.
