Bathinda: The Bathinda police have arrested four members of the Pardi gang, involved in thefts at various places in the district, and recovered 7kg of silver stolen from a jewellery shop in Bathinda on the intervening night of January 14 and 15.
Bathinda senior superintendent of police (SSP) Jyoti Yadav said a case was registered at Canal Colony police station on January 15 in connection with the theft at a local jewellery shop, from where 7kg of silver and some cash was stolen.

Raids were conducted across several districts in Punjab and Haryana, including Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Jind, Karnal, Mewat, and Rewari. A major breakthrough was achieved when police teams arrested four accused identified as Anil alias Ampuri of Nyapura in Kota, Rajasthan; Govinda of Barnala; Omi alias Tiger of Barnala; and Bikram Verma of Ahmedgarh in Sangrur. The accused had formed a gang that carried out thefts in different states.
Thev SSP said the women and male members of the gang conducted reconnaissance in the streets of towns where fairs were organised, under the pretext of selling balloons, and would strike at chosen places. After committing theft, they would leave the area and travelled by train to another location. Members of the gang were involved in thefts in Mukerian (Hoshiarpur), Jalandhar, Kurali, Balachaur, Gurdaspur, Samrala, and Ropar. During interrogation, the remaining accused were also identified. Police teams are conducting raids to arrest them.
