CHANDIGARH: A two-day international and inter-disciplinary conference, “NanoSciTech 2017”, on the theme, “Expanding Horizons of Nanotechnology: Next Gen Challenges in Biomedical Sciences” would begin from Thursday.
A pre-conference workshop was held here on Wednesday by UGC Centre of Excellence for Nano Biomedical Applications. Nearly 350 delegates and over 30 renowned speakers with eight hailing from countries like the US, UK, Canada, Australia and France would be participating. Over 200 poster and oral presentations would be made by young scientists.
The workshop on the topic, “QbD-Enabled Development and Characterization of Novel Nanostructured Drug Delivery Systems”, was conducted on Wednesday. The pre-conference was inaugurated by professor
The workshop included deliberations and demonstrations by professors Umesh Banakar (US) and Bhupinder Singh Bhoop (conference chair), Dr
Professor Bhoop said the aim of NanoSciTech 2017 is to bring together the international community working in different columns of nanotechnology, and to provide them with conducive milieu for presenting advancements and applications in nanotechnology, especially in biomedical sciences. Endeavouring explicit deliberations on newer trends of nanotechnology, the conference programme would address multi-disciplinary challenges faced by scientists in order to foster the desired collaboration among biologists, chemists, physicists, engineers, industrial scientists and clinicians for developing next gen nanotechnology-enabled solutions in diagnostics and therapeutics, and for exploring novel developmental tools, product opportunities, R&D commercialization partners, he added.
Professor Bhoop said taking the baton forward from the synergy of previous years conferences, NanoSciTech 2017 is slated to be an inimitable occasion to share pertinent knowledge and knowhow.
