Bathinda: A 24-year-old youth, identified as Sukhwinder Singh of Maur Kalan village in Bathinda district, has reportedly died of drug overdose. The Maur police of Bathinda district have registered a case against two people and arrested one of them.Sukhwinder Singh's brother Sukhdeep Singh, in a complaint to the police, has stated that his brother was working in a hotel in Chandigarh and had come home for Diwali. He was going to work with their maternal uncle Amarjit Singh, who was working as a mason. On the evening of October 30, he took Rs 1,000 from a contractor he was working with and handed over the money to Amandeep Singh, also known as Mani, from the village. He then went out with Mani and when he returned home, he reportedly injected himself with drugs. "When we checked him, he was found unconscious and when we took him to Talwandi Sabo civil hospital, he was declared dead," the complainant stated.Sukhdeep further complained that Amandeep had brought the drug supplies from one Jagdeep Singh of the village.Maur Police Station SHO Inspector Tarundeep Singh said, "Acting on the complaint of Sukhdeep Singh, a case under section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 3(5) (common intention) has been registered against Amandeep Singh and Jagdeep Singh. Both have been arrested."
