2 students end lives in Jalandhar

JALANDHAR: A class IX student and an undergraduate pursuing engineering committed suicide in Jalandhar on Friday.
According to police, the Arjun Sharma, 16, took the extreme step as he was hurt after his parents scolded him and said he was good for nothing. He left a suicide note, saying: "Mummy aur papa mujhe maaf kar dena, mujhe pata hai ki mein aapke liye kuchh bhi nahi kar saka.Aap hi kehte the na ki tum kisi kaam ke liye nahi ho. Achha alvida maan. Is liye mein zehar dava khane laga hoon, phir maan mein vapis aoonga - Arjun Sharma". His parents were away when Arjun hanged himself at his home in Amar Nagar area.
In another incident, a student of BTech in a private university here, Ajit Maurya, was found hanging in the room of Parkash Hotel near the bus stand. He had checked in on Thursday and did not open the door afterwards or respond to the calls of the hotel staff. They informed police on Friday. He was found hanging in the room when police broke open the door. Preliminary inquries revealed that he was upset after scoring low marks in the exams.
