2 pesticide firm officials booked

A pesticide company in Maharashtra has filed charges against two officials from the local police force for allegedly cheating and intimidating the company's owner. Jaipal of the pesticide company alleges that the two officials, who are also from the same police force, promised to help sell the company's products, but then didn't pay him for the pesticides he had purchased. The police have now registered a case against the two officials.

Bathinda: The Barnala police have booked two officials of a Mumbai-based pesticides company on charges of cheating and criminal intimidation.
The case was registered on the complaint of one Jaipal of Barnala-based pesticides firm Madan Lal and Sons. Jaipal alleged that the accused officials had cheated his firm of Rs 23.09 lakh between February 2021 and December 2021.
Jaipal said Madan Lal and Sons purchased pesticides from the Mumbai-based company at the insistence of the accused officials, who promised them of helping in selling off the product.

The two officials sold the procured pesticides directly to the farmers but later declined to pay the firm (Madan Lal and Sons) for pesticides worth over Rs 23 lakh, Jaipal told the police.
Meanwhile, the police said a case had been registered at the Barnala city police station under sections 420 (cheating) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code. tnn
