The police have nabbed eight accused in separate cases while in one of the case it has booked unidentified accused and recovered the large quantity of liquor from them.

The Patran police in separate case arrested accused Birbal Ram of Gulahar Patran village of Patiala and recovered from him 108 liquor bottles of the country made liquor having the name of Haryana brand. The police nabbed him on a tip-off by conducting a raid in his village. In the same police station, accused Gurjant Singh of Shutrana has been booked under excise act after the police recovered 20 bottles of illicit liquor brought allegedly from Haryana. He was nabbed near Rasauli road Shutrana on a tip-off when the police conducted the raid.
The Sadar Samana police has nabbed accused Rashpal Singh Chintanwala and Sukjinder Singh of Malkon village along with 96 bottles of liquor and also confiscated their car in which the accused were smuggling these bottles allegedly bought from Haryana.
However, the Sadar Patiala has booked some unidentified accused after they recovered an abandoned lying XUV car near Chamharhedi village. The Investigating police officer Iqbal Singh, on whose complaint the case under excise act is registered claimed that while the police patrolling they found an abandoned XUV car. He said that when frisked around 900 illicit liquor bottles allegedly bought from Chandigarh was recovered from it.
Sadar Patiala police in the separate case have booked accused Narang Singh of Balbera village of Patiala under the excise act and had recovered raw material from 40 bottles and five bottles of illegal country-made liquor from him. The police claimed to have conducted a raid on a tip-off when they were patrolling near Balbera village.
Accused Jatinder Kumar of Rajpura town was nabbed under excise act along with 12 bottles of foreign-made liquor by City Rajpura police.
