Odisha: Vigilance lens on Jaleswar BDO

BHUBANESWAR: Aswini Kumar Das, the BDO of Jaleswar in Balasore district, was on Saturday detained by the vigilance sleuths for allegedly possessing disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs 5.07 crore.

Raids were conducted at multiple locations in Balasore, Cuttack and Kendrapada where at least 24 plots were found to be owned by Das. The registered sale deed value of the land stood at around Rs 76.4 lakh. “We also found that he owns a three-storey building (worth Rs 1.22 crore) and a two-storey building (Rs 1.10 crore) in Cuttack,” a vigilance officer said.tnn
